Shri Krishan Kumar Modi (born on August 27, 1940 at Patiala) is the eldest son of Late Rai Bhadur Gujrarmal Modi (1902-1976), the founder of MODI GROUP OF INDUSTRIES who promoted various townships, laid foundation of various Industries and commissioned then since 1932 onwards like Modi Sugar, Modi Vanaspati Mfr Co., Modi Paints, Modi Oils, Modi Electrodes, Modi Lanterns and Torch works, Tube wells/drilling, Modi Distillery, Modi Steels, Industrial Gases, Modi Spinning and Wvg. Mills Co. Ltd., Modi Yarn Mills, Modi Threads, Modi Soap and Modi Carpets etc.

Shri K.K. Modi, joined his father to assist him in the business in 1963 after his education.

He has a broad and modern outlook for the Industry. He pioneered and commissioned Rayon and Silk Mills, Nylon and Polyester Filament Yarn, Tyres and Tubes, Industrial and Leather Chemicals, Tobacco Cigarettes and Tea, Home Care Products, Perfume and Toiletries, Entertainment and Sports business and many others. Shri K.K.Modi has been successful in convincing many foreign companies to join hands with Modi Group of Industries to produce and market goods in India viz. Rohm & Haas Company, Philadelphia, Continental Gummi Werke A.G. Daido Steel Co., Rank Xerox, UHDE, Blue Circle Industries Plc., Sterling International Group, Hospital Corpn. of America, Courtaulds, A.E. Staley & Co. and Hohnson Wax.

He was also actively involved in establishing various Shopping Centers, Auditoriums, Clubs, and establishing 500 bed Medical and Research Center, Schools and Colleges in Modi Nagar and other towns of the country, Guest Houses at Metropolis and Rest Houses at pilgrimage towns like Haridwar, Rishikesh, Mathura, Vrindavan, etc. managed by various Charitable Institutions and Trusts.

Shri Krishan Kumar Modi possess more than 26 years experience in man made fabrics and fiber technology, cigarette technology, pesticides, fungicides and leather & industrial chemicals technology, industrial and management techniques, industrial costing, financial and fiscal management, budgeting, taxation, industrial/corporate and other mercantile laws, industrial relations, marketing, etc. This has resulted that all ventures gain popularity for modern techniques and profitable centers.

Involved in every crucial stage pertaining to the various companies, right from preparing the project report, planning, negotiating with the Government of India and State Governments for obtaining all requisite licenses and approvals for completion of the projects, negotiating with the foreign collaborators, consulting engineers, plant suppliers and financial institutions, etc. Supervision and Guidance in the design, construction, fabrication, procurement, commissioning and efficient running of the operation of the plants, projects, developing new products of international repute and standards has always been his first choice.
