What is Direct Selling?

How does a person become a consultant?

To become a Modicare Consultant you have to be sponsored by an existing Modicare Consultant. You have to fill out a Consultant Application Form, pay your registration fees and take the starter kit. Your upline (i.e. the person who sponsors you) would then further provide guidelines and support about the business. Modicare also runs regular training programs that will further equip you in the development of your business.

Is it expensive to start the Modicare Business?
No, the Modicare business opportunity does not require any major investment. All you have to do is pay your registration fees and you get a starter kit. The Modicare starter kit contains catalogues, brochures, forms, products and other business support material. It is in short, a comprehensive business tool for you to start your business.

Apart from Modicare Business what other benefit is offered to me as a consultant?
Modicare has added a new dimension to its relationship with its consultants by providing them with a special Personal Accident Insurance Cover - at no extra cost. Modicare is providing this service in association with one of the leading companies in the Insurance Sector. The policy will cover only a) Loss of Life and b) Permanent and Total Disability as a result of an accident only of the main applicant. Its cover will be applicable worldwide, 24 hours a day.

The benefit of Insurance cover comes free of cost upon registration of a Modicare consultant (consultant registration is subject to buying a Starter kit as per the rules of business) as well as for all the renewed consultants.

Please note that the Insurance cover remains valid only till the consultant registration is valid/renewed.

This move reflects Modicare's gesture towards its consultants as it was felt that it was only appropriate that we provide some kind of support to those who form the very core of Modicare - our consultants. This insurance cover will provide you with some peace of mind in terms of security for you and your family as you build your Modicare business.

Modicare's overseas training trips are amazing and second to none in the industry. Our all expenses paid seminars and events take our Consultants around the world exposing them to world-class trainings by best of the best trainers. An invitation to these Consultant training and development meetings is offered to those Consultants who fulfill certain criteria prescribed by the Company.

How do the Modicare consultants earn their income?
Modicare's business opportunity provides its Consultants with many areas of income:

(a) The Modicare Consultant can receive up to 30% retail profit from product sales. This is the difference between the Consultant price (price at which the product is available to the Consultant) and the Maximum Retail price better known as MRP (Maximum Retail Price better known as Customer Price).

(b) The Consultants also earn income on bonuses. Modicare may set a minimum personal purchase target to be achieved by you every month to qualify for receiving bonus. If you do not have a minimum purchase, the accrued bonus will be passed on to the next eligible upline. There are various bonuses like Performance Bonus based on product purchases, Leadership Bonus, Ruby Bonus, Pearl Bonus, Emerald Bonus, Diamond Bonus, Double Diamond Bonus and various cash awards etc.

Are the distributor's employees of the company?
No, Modicare Consultants are not employees of the company. They are entrepreneurs with their own business.

What is Modicare School of Entrepreneurship?

Does Modicare have an R&D facility and manufacturing unit?
Yes, Modicare has an R&D centre at Mumbai, which consists of highly experienced scientists and technical staff. The centre is dedicated to continuously searching for new products whilst ensuring the excellence and enhancement of the existing ones.

How can one buy Modicare products?
Modicare products are sold through Modicare Consultants or via the Modicare Portal http://www.modicare.com/. You can contact the Consultants by either visiting the Modicare Success Centre or by calling up the Consultants and placing your order with them. You can also visit the Consultant Locator at the Modicare Portal.

Who owns Modicare?
Modicare was established by the K.K. Modi group in 1996.

When did Modicare start its operation?
Modicare commenced its operations in March 1996.

Does one have to be a Modicare consultant to buy Modicare products?
No, one does not have to be a Modicare Consultant to buy Modicare products. One can easily buy these products from an existing Modicare Consultant.

Are Modicare Consultants required to make a certain minimum purchase?
No, Modicare Consultants do not have to make a minimum purchase every month. However to earn a bonus cheque, a minimum purchase of Rs. 300/- in that month is mandatory.

What is Business Volume and how is it calculated?
Every product has a pre-notified Point Value (PV) and Business Volume (BV). The PV level achieved determines what performance bonus you are entitled to. BV is used for the purpose of calculation of bonus. BV is equal to DP (Distributor price) less direct and indirect taxes. The BV that you and your network accumulate in a month is used to calculate the performance bonus paid by the percentage level you achieved with your PV. The performance bonus due to your downlines depending on their percentage level is deducted out of your gross performance bonus and paid directly to your sponsored consultants by Modicare and the balance earnings are paid directly to you.

Do you need to have any educational qualification to be a Modicare Consultant?
The Modicare opportunity is open to all - you do not require any educational qualification to avail of it. At Modicare, we believe in providing an opportunity to those who dare to dream and are willing to invest genuine effort to make their dreams come true.

Are there any rules and regulations that one has to follow while doing Modicare's business?
Yes, there are certain procedures and policies that have to be followed. These are aimed at observing and upholding the highest standards of conduct and are intended to mandate the practical operations of the business as well as preserve and protect the rights and benefits available to the Consultants and to promote ethical selling. Please refer to the Business Manual for more details.

From where can I get to know my BV?
You can get to know your BV at any of the Modicare Success Centres or by logging into our portal at http://www.modicareconnect.com.

Does one ever get terminated from Modicare distributorship?
Distributorship can be terminated in case of violation of the rules and regulations regarding code of conduct so prescribed by the Company in the Business Manual.

Is Modicare recognised by any forum/ trade organisation?
Yes, Modicare is a member of IDSA - Indian Direct Selling Association, an association of companies that sell products and services through direct selling. The association strives to protect and promote the industry among various kinds of audiences and imparts authentic information about the industry. The objective of the member companies is to provide the best products at the best price.

Do you have to be a certain age to join the Modicare Business?
To register and do Modicare business one has to be 18 years or above of age.

How much on an average does a Modicare Consultant earn?
Modicare offers its Consultants limitless opportunities to earn. However, the actual income varies in accordance to the Consultant's goals, commitment & dedication levels. The amount one earns is invariably in proportion to one's efforts and willingness to invest genuine effort.

Are Modicare products are expensive as compared to other products available in the market?
This is a misconception. Modicare markets high quality products formulated according to international standards and developed in accordance with Indian tastes and needs. All the products are highly concentrated and thus have to be diluted and used. This makes the products far more economical than the competitive products in the market. In addition, the cost per use is less. Modicare products are also high performance products with additional features and benefits thus resulting in higher efficacy than competitive products.

Is it mandatory to attend training programs?
It is not mandatory for any Modicare Consultant to attend training programs. Training programs are held to facilitate Consultants in their business building efforts, in planning and organizing their business. Since the training programs provide relevant inputs to Consultants to conduct business therefore people attending training programs have a better chance of being successful.

Is Modicare a socially conscious company?
Modicare firmly believes in social values and is deeply committed towards society. In its endeavor of giving back to society what it receives from it, Modicare donates 1% of its sales to the RBGM Foundation. The RBGM Foundation undertakes various activities ranging from creating AIDS awareness among people to carrying out a clean and green drive across the nation.

How do the Modicare products fare in comparison to their counterparts?
Modicare believes in offering quality solutions to its customers. Accordingly, our entire product range comprises high performance products. In terms of quality and efficacy these products are equivalent if not superior to the competitive products available in the market. If a customer is dissatisfied with a particular product he has the right to return the product to the Modicare Consultant from whom the purchase has been made within the timeline as per the company policy. Consultants have to meet the requisite qualifications for receiving the respective awards. Modicare has various awards and bonus levels varying with the various achievement levels.

Do I get BV on all the items I purchase?
No, one receives BV on all the products purchased by the Consultants as notified by the Company. However one does not get any BV on accessories and literature purchased.

How do I order my products if there is no Modicare Success Centre in my region?
One could send in the product order form with the demand draft for the payment of the products to the nearest Modicare Success Centre within the same State and the products would then be couriered. Another option is to make a tele-order for the products to be couriered to the respective destination. The person would then have to pay on delivery (POD). Please check with your local Modicare Success Centre for delivery destinations. You can also order products online from http://www.modicareconnect.com or the personal Website of an IBC.

Is it necessary to have a co-applicant?
No, it is not necessary to have a co-applicant.

Is credit card facility available to buy products?
Yes, Modicare does have the facility of buying products through the credit card at most of our MSCs.

Can I transfer my B.V?
No, you cannot transfer your BV to another Consultant's account.

Is the Modicare opportunity open to women only?
No, the Modicare opportunity is open to all irrespective of their gender, religion, qualification or experience. We believe in providing people with the opportunity to be entrepreneurs and invest genuine effort to make their dreams come true.

How does one qualify for training programs/seminars abroad?
Modicare has an annual Go Emerald and Go Diamond Seminar. One has to be a Star Director or above to qualify for the Go Emerald trip and has to be an Emerald and above for the Go Diamond Trip. For more details please contact your nearest Modicare Success Centre.

Is there any product return policy?
There is an irreversible Return policy covered under 100% Satisfaction Guarantee on Modicare products, wherever specified, with money refund policy. The Modicare 100% Satisfaction Guarantee covers sales made to customers and assures that consumers of Modicare products will be satisfied with their purchases.
Whenever there is a request from a customer for honoring the Company Satisfaction Guarantee, the Consultant shall offer to the customer the choice of:

  1. Full refund of the purchase price paid.
  2. Exchange with the same or another product of equivalent value.
The Company will not accept the unsatisfactory products without the relevant Customer Order Receipt, Product Return Form and the related invoice.

This Guarantee applies even if the product is partially used.

For how long is my registration valid?
When a consultant is enrolled, his initial consultant-ship validity is till 31st December the following year. For example, if a consultant joins on 1st Feb 2006, he will be valid to transact up till 31st December 2007.

Annual Renewal Criteria:
Paid Renewal: Rs.360/-
Auto Renewal:
     a) Personally sponsor min 5 people within your validity period
     Or b) Personally purchase products worth min Rs.9000/- within the validity period If a consultant fails to renew, his name will be removed from the system immediately with no grace period and will not be allowed to transact thereafter.


Can I be re-instated as a consultant?
Yes, if you have been a former consultant or the spouse of a former consultant, you can apply for re-registration as a consultant after a lapse of six consecutive months since the termination of the former appointment.

Client Registration.
Before you start your Modicare shopping experience, you need to register yourself at the log in page at Modicare.com and provide information that will allow us to communicate with you regarding your transactions.

The registration process is simple. The Shopping Bag of Modicare is password protected to what you set at the time of registration. When you add any product to the shopping bag, you will reach a log in page. A new user can register here or members can log in to their account directly.

To register directly, click on Register. Once you are registered with Modicare, the same username and the password can be used to log in whenever you want to shop at Modicare. If you have forgotten your password, you can use the "Forgot Your Password?" link in the log in page to get a new password.

You must remember your user name and on entering that, you will be taken to your hint question. On answering the hint question in exactly the same words as you had entered in the Registration Page you can create a new password.

Consultant Locator

Modicare and its Independent Business Consultants (IBCs) offer you a unique shopping experience on the Internet. As a Modicare Client, you will not only have easy access to hundreds of great products you use everyday, you will also have your very own "personal connection" with Modicare an IBC who's committed to making sure you are pleased with the products you purchase and receive the service you deserve. This is why every Client who wants to shop at Modicare needs to be referred by an IBC. If you were referred to Modicare by an IBC, give his/her consultation number to go to the personal web site of the IBC where you can purchase Modicare products.

If you were not referred to Modicare you can use the Consultant Locator to find an IBC in your nearest region by giving the state, city and PIN code information.

Placing An Order.
Placing an order with Modicare is quick and simple.

  1. As you browse through the Modicare World, you can put the items that you want to purchase instantly in your Shopping Bag by clicking on the link 'Add To Bag'. Link to Shopping Bag is provided with every item that is displayed on the screen.
  2. If you haven't logged in yet, you will reach the login page. A new user can register here or members can login to their account directly.
  3. After creating an account, you can view your shopping bag through the 'View Checkbag' section. To continue shopping, click on the 'Continue Shopping' button, which takes you back to the Modicare World Page.
  4. After you have finished shopping, you can click on the 'View Checkbag' link. On viewing your shopping bag, you can update your shopping cart i.e. change the quantity of the items you are buying, remove or add an item from your shopping bag etc. After having chosen the items you wish to purchase, you can click on 'Checkout'.
  5. After 'Checkout', you are taken to a page wherein you can review your order details and choose your delivery options. Modicare offers you various delivery options in which you can choose to have the IBC handle your order and payment and deliver it personally to you or have the order couriered directly to you from any Modicare Success Centers (MSCs) across the country.
  6. Subsequent to choosing your delivery option and the shipping address, if the order is being couriered, you have to give the payment information for the same. Modicare offers you payment option of Online Payments through the credit cards and cash coupons wherever.
  7. In case you have asked the IBC to handle the order, the IBC will be intimated about your order and he in turn will get in touch with you regarding the payment and delivery of the order.
  8. After giving the payment information you are taken to the order confirmation page, which gives the complete details of the order and also shows you the shipping address specified by you for the order. By default, the shipping address that you have mentioned in the Registration Form will be displayed here. Order confirmation e-mail will also be sent to you.

In fact, shopping online with a credit card at Modicare is even safer than using a credit card at a restaurant because we do not retain your credit card information. You need not worry about your credit card information falling into the wrong hands because your bank will authorize the credit card transaction directly without any information passing through us.

In approximately 25-30 seconds (depending on your internet connection) your bank will issue an authorization number and the electronic receipt would be generated. How does Modicare protect your privacy?
We are committed to protecting your privacy. The Shopping Bag of Modicare is password protected to what you set at the time of registration. Modicare will not give out your telephone number or e-mail address, except where needed to deliver a product or service ordered. We will not give out your credit card number or any account information unless you authorize it, e.g., processing a credit card payment. In other words, we will not rent or sell your name, address, e-mail address, credit card information or personal information to any third party without your permission. This information is collected primarily to ensure that we are able to fulfill your requirements and to deliver a truly personalized shopping experience.

However, we will cooperate fully with the law of the land should a situation arise where we are required by law or statutory obligation or legal process to provide information about a customer. We may share non-personal, non-individual statistical or demographic information, in aggregate form, with our marketing partners, advertisers or other third parties for research and advertising purposes.

In other words, we will not give out information that you have purchased a specific product, but we may tell them how many customers purchased a product.

Tips to help you protect your privacy online:

  • Never give your password to anyone online.
  • Make your password at least six characters in length.
  • Create a password that includes a combination of numbers and letters.
  • If you have fallen for an online scam and gave out your password, change your password right away. You can do this by entering the 'Edit Profile' section and modifying login information.
  • Once you have finished surfing through Modicare, do not leave the site open and be sure to log off from the site.

Personal Information

You can modify your personal information (e-mail address, phone numbers, password, shipping information, etc.). Just log into your account and click on 'Edit Profile'. The password must have at least 6 characters and a maximum of 20. It is also case-sensitive. If you have forgotten your password, you can use the "Forgot Your Password?" link in the log in page to get a new password. You must remember your user name and on entering that, you will be taken to your Hint Question. On answering the Hint Question in exactly the same words as you had entered in the Registration Page you can create a new password.

Delivery Options

Do you deliver worldwide?
All items in our Modicare World are available only for delivery within India.

How is my order delivered to me?
Modicare gives you different delivery options:

What is the lead-time for delivery?
Orders from Modicare are delivered quickly anywhere in India, by courier through our logistics partners. Subject to the availability of stock, our minimum lead-time for delivery of any product is 3 - 4 working days.

However, different products may have different delivery lead-times depending upon the vendors or the place of shipment. Also, the delivery is not attempted on Sundays and public holidays, since there is no courier service available on these days.

In case there is no courier service to the address mentioned in the order, the order will be cancelled and the same will be intimated to you by email.

Payment Options - Credit Card Online
VISA and MasterCard payments are processed through an online payment gateway system. Modicare is a Verisign Certified Site and payment by credit card is secure on our site. You need not worry about your credit card information falling into the wrong hands because your bank will authorize the credit card transaction directly without any information passing through us. In approximately 25-30 seconds (depending on your Internet connection) your bank will issue via the online payment gateway an authorization code and confirmation of completion of transactions.

Modicare uses the latest encryption technology and other methods to protect your credit card information. In fact, shopping online with a credit card at Modicare is even safer than using a credit card at a restaurant because we do not retain your credit card information. You can be assured that Modicare offers you the highest standards of security currently available on the Net so as to ensure that your shopping experience is private, safe and secure.

When do I get Bonus?
Performance Bonuses are payable by the 15th of the following month. In case you owe Modicare any money, Modicare may exercise legal rights and remedies to adjust such sums from any amount / bonuses payable to you. We may also withhold payment of bonuses owed to you until we have been paid in full. MODICARE may set a minimum personal purchase target to be achieved by you every month to qualify for receiving bonus. If you do not have a minimum purchase, the accrued bonus will be passed on to the next eligible upline.

What are the rules regarding exports?
Export of Modicare products is not allowed.

Modicare Satisfaction Guarantee:
Lots of companies offer product guarantees or promise of Money Back Guarantee, but few can match the guarantee offered by Modicare. The company's faith in its product and its commitment to quality extends to an unconditional 100% Satisfaction Guarantee on its products, wherever specified. Modicare products are manufactured under rigid quality control and are exhaustively tested to ensure top quality. This Guarantee applies even if the product is partially used.

Modicare believes in the highest standards of quality and to lend credibility to the claims of high quality most of the Modicare products carry the 100% Modicare Satisfaction Guarantee. Whenever you buy a Modicare product or a Modicare distributed product you have the right to use it for a given time as per the company policy to determine whether you are satisfied or not. According to this, a dissatisfied consumer may return products with unsatisfactory performance to the Consultant for a 100% refund, for the products where applicable, within 7 days of original purchase.

As per the Product Return Policy of the Company, a Consultant can return such products back to the Company within 30 days of its purchase.

Kindly ensure that upto 25 % of the product is used for the same to be returned. On return, the Modicare Consultant will either replace the product or refund the full purchase price.

Accessories can only be replaced and not exchanged for a refund, except in case of resignation by the consultants. Unsold Starter kits can only be returned in the eventuality of a resignation.
This guarantee however does not apply to products that have been intentionally damaged or mishandled.

Specific written warranties:

In addition to this satisfaction guarantee, some distributed products are also covered by specific written warranties, which accompany the products. In such products, the satisfaction guarantee will not be valid.

Return Procedures:

  • Products should be returned within a time frame of 30 days.

  • Returned goods must be in perfect condition and where possible, in their original packaging.

  • Products that have been misused cannot be returned because they do not come under the "100% Satisfaction Guarantee".

  • Only Modicare products can be returned. Non-Modicare products, literature, cassettes etc., which Consultants choose to purchase from their sponsors, Star Consultants or other sources cannot be returned to Modicare.

  • Business support material and sales aids like literature, audio-visual aids, pins and plaques, forms, accessories and other promotional items cannot be returned or replaced. These items are business investments meant for optional promotional use.

  • Products that have become 'No Longer Available' (NLA) for more than six months will not be accepted.

How do I give up my Consultant status?
You may resign from your Consultants status at any time. This notice becomes effective upon receipt of the resignation, the MCA card and the Starter Kit. A Consultant resigning within 30 days from the date of enrolment will be entitled to a refund. A refund cheque will be issued from the respective MSC. There will be no refund on resignation if request is received after 30 days from the date of enrolment.

In the event of resignation, you shall cease to have contractual liabilities with Modicare or your sponsor, except for liabilities:

On account of indemnities in respect of costs or damages legal or otherwise, arising as a result of any misrepresentation or infringement of any laws.

On account of infringements of the Rules of Business as occurred prior to the effective date of resignation.

How can I resign from my membership?
The resigning Consultant is required to submit the following at the MSC at the time of resignation:
  • Duly filled and signed Decision Form
  • CAF copy
  • Kit Invoice copy
The Consultant will be entitled to a refund after deducting:
  • 10% of the relevant DP value, if Kit products or all saleable contents are returned in a perfect saleable condition and the seal is not broken. No refund otherwise.
  • 20% handling charges on E-Portal.
  • 100% of the Kit literature.

A refund cheque will be issued from the respective MSC.
